Seasonal greetings with a difference

CHRISTMAS WISHES: Pupils from Ramshaw Primary School, Evenwood, with the Christmas Message Tree.
ECO-friendly pupils at a Teesdale school have come up with a novel way of wishing each other a happy Christmas.
Ramshaw Primary School, Evenwood, near Bishop Auckland, has a Christmas Message Tree.
Rather than send each other cards, the 70 pupils can pay £1 to have their message written on a bauble and hung on the tree for all their friends to see.
As well as raising money for charity – this year, all cash will be donated to Zoe's place, the children's hospice – it helps the school meet its eco-friendly status.
