A WOMAN went on a one-day stealing spree in Darlington and lifted almost £100 of goods from four different shops, a court heard.
Nasrin Akther, 27, of Corporation Road, Darlington, appeared before the town's magistrates’ court yesterday (Thursday, December 6) and admitted to stealing items worth £21.98 from New Look, £17.95 from Wilkinsons, £42 from Next and goods totalling £11.99 from Yorkshire Linen on July 21.
The court heard that Akther, who had no previous convictions, stole the items because her family had been struggling financially since her husband lost his job as a waiter six-months-ago.
She was given a 12-month conditional discharge for the four counts of theft.
