Julie Wright and her husband Jeff have dressed their home on West Auckland Road, Darlington with over 3000 festive lights for Christmas.

COULD these be the region’s most impressive homespun Christmas lights?

Julie and Jeff Wright have been attracting attention with their display at their home in West Auckland Road, Darlington.

The flamboyant decorations include more than 3,000 light bulbs, complete with an eight metre inflatable Santa.

Mrs Wright said the lights brought as much enjoyment to her as they do the couple’s two daughters, Ellie aged nine, and Shannon, aged 17.

She said: “The attention has been non-stop, with people stopping to take photos – even policemen and ambulance drivers have commented on the lights.

“We did quite a big display last year and have added to it this year.”

That inflatable santa is not eight foot tall. It is the hight of their house, more like 20 feet.

I love the giant Santa. Hope he doesn't get blown away.
Just waiting for some jobsworth to say that it is a distraction to drivers and may cause an accident.
