FATAL COLLISION: A 56-year-old man from the Stockton area has died after the white Ford Transit Van he was driving collided with railings on the A177, between the Maritime Roundabout and Durham Road Roundabout in Stockton.
Police received reports of the collision at around 12.50pm today (Tuesday, December 4).
The man was taken to North Tees General Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Road closures were put in place and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Thursday.
