A NORTH-EAST town is set to look spectacular this Christmas, when the popular festive market sets out its stall.

The ever-popular Christmas Spectacular runs in Darlington from Thursday (December 6) to Sunday and will include familiar stalls such as gifts, crafts, sweet and festive foods.

It will be open from noon to 8pm on Thursday, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Festivities in Darlington carry on throughout December, as the Christingle Markets hit the town on December 13 and 20, from noon to 8pm.

The markets will feature a variety of Christmas tastes and organisers hope they will be the perfect way to get shoppers in the festive mood.

Councillor Chris McEwan, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for economy and regeneration, said: “The Christmas markets give shoppers the chance to get something a bit different that may not be available on the high street.

“It is the chance to soak up the atmosphere of Christmas and to enjoy a different shopping experience alongside the wide range of retailers that Darlington offers.

“With free parking available at certain times, it is the ideal opportunity to come along and enjoy the town centre in all its festive finery, make some inroads into that never ending Christmas shopping list and enjoy a meal or a spin around the ice rink.”
