The following cases were heard by South Durham Magistrates sitting at Darlington Magistrates’ Court:

Richard Allen Bowles, 31, of Montrose Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty by post to a charge of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a tyre with insufficient tread. He was fined £73, had three points added to his licence and was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Craig Costello, 30, of St Cuthbert Avenue, Marton-in-Cleveland, had a charge of unacceptable behaviour on the railway proved in his absence. The court heard that he had been abusive to a member of staff at Darlington Railway Station. He was fined £110 or ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Sami Babakir Mohammed, 26, of Gladstone Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty in writing to charges of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without third party insurance. He had six penalty points added to his licence and was fined £110. He must also pay court costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.
