A GROUP of disabled people have launched a court case against a bus company they claim has discriminated against them.
Darlington Association on Disability (Dad) is suing Arriva North-East, following allegations its drivers were not stopping for passengers with wheelchairs.
The case, which is being heard at Teesside County Court, in Middlesbrough, started on Monday (December 3) and is expected to last two weeks.
It is also alleged that wheelchair users were refused access to some buses where there was already a pushchair onboard.
Sheffield legal firm, Unity Law, which specialises in disability discrimination, is handling the case on behalf of Dad.
A spokeswoman for Arriva said it was not appropriate to comment on the case while it was being heard.
The case continues.
