A STAR struck vicar has gone from miser to millionaire, at least on the stage.
Revd Paul Peverell, Vicar of Great Ayton, is the star of the Bradley School of Dance Christmas Production of Annie, starring as American millionaire Daddy Warbucks who helps orphan girl Annie find happiness.
Rev Pev, as he is known to the youngsters, says he’s come a long way since his first appearance with the company when he starred as the miser Scrooge in the Christmas production in 2007.
“It’s been a great privilege being part of the Bradley’s Christmas Shows over recent years,” he said.
“The youngsters are very good, versatile performers, being able to sing and dance at the same time – something I can’t do – and put on really good shows.
"They alternate between panto and musicals. I take my hat off to those on the stage, for if I forget my words during a sermon I can quickly make a few more up. Do that in a show and you have real problems.”
The show starts in the Parochial Hall, Great Ayton on Tuesday, December 11 at 7pm, with further evening performances on Wednesday and Friday and 1.30pm and matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for children and concessions from Great Ayton Discovery Centre or call the Box Office on 01642-723250
