COMPOST seized in a police raid on a cannabis farm has been used to help a community garden flourish.
Local officers carried out a series of raids in the Redcar and Cleveland area and recovered 12 unused, sealed bags of compost.
The raids were based on information provided by the public and to thank the community for its assistance, officers found a good use for the compost.
It was donated to residents who look after a community garden at Ormesby Library, in Ormesby Bank.
PC John Seaman, who handed the compost over, said: “Hopefully it will help the residents ensure that the vegetables in the garden flourish in 2013 and years to come."
