WARD SURGERY: Durham County Council members for Barnard Castle West, Barbara Harrison and Richard Bell will hold a surgery at Boldron Village Hall on Friday, December 7, between 5pm and 6.30pm.
FESTIVE FUN: Hamsterley Village Hall is hosting two dances over Christmas and New Year. The first is on Friday, December 14, at 8pm with guests Bon Accords and the second is on Tuesday, January 1, 8pm and features Alan’s Band. Those attending should bring their own food and drinks. BOARD MEETING: The Teesdale Action Partnership (TAP) board will meet on Wednesday, December 12, at 6pm in Winston Village Hall. The board will receive an update on the rope bridge at Barnard Castle and look at budget proposals as well as get up-to-date information on current TAP projects.
FESTIVE FAIR: St Thomas’ Church, in Stanhope, will host a community Christmas market in the church hall and courtyard on Saturday, December 8, between 4pm and 8pm. The event will include 22 stalls, a Santa’s Grotto and refreshments. Entry is free.
ANNUAL MARKET: The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, will host its annual Christmas market on December 15 and 16. There will be more than 90 stalls offering the best in local food and produce; real reindeer, Santa’s grotto and seasonal entertainment. A free park and ride ‘Santa’ bus will operate to and from Bowes Museum from the town.
