Redcar man assaulted and robbed on his way home

MAN ROBBED: A 20-year-old man was attacked and robbed in Redcar.

The victim was walking home at 1.25am on Friday along West Dyke Road after a night out with friends when he was confronted by three males near Easson Road.

After a brief conversation they assaulted him, knocking him to the ground, and stealing his keys and mobile phone.

They were described as white males, aged 18-25 and all wearing dark hooded tops.

Before the incident they may have been at, or near, the Tesco supermarket nearby.

The victim was treated for cuts and bruises at Redcar Primary Care Trust Hospital, but later released.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and released on police bail. Anyone who may have information or who witnessed the attack is asked to call DC Dave Cook on (01642) 302626 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
