A PEDESTRIAN who was walking home after a night out has been killed after a two-car collision in Teesside.

Neil Keith McClure suffered fatal head injuries in the incident, which involved a blue Honda Jazz and a blue Ford Fiesta at 3am on Saturday morning on Urlay Nook Road, Eaglescliffe, near Stockton-on-Tees.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees but died this morning.

It is believed the Boro fan was watching his team take on Birmingham City on television in a pub in Yarm and enjoying a few drinks before walking back to his home in Hartburn.

He was walking close to Egglescliffe School and Tesco when the incident occurred.

Police said both drivers were travelling alone in their cars and neither suffered any injuries. It is not yet clear why two cars were involved and exactly how 41-year-old Mr McClure was struck.

Any witnesses, or anyone with information about the incident, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on its non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 215954.
