A BREAST cancer survivor is encouraging people to put Cancer Research UK’s new Give and Gift card at the top of their Christmas lists.

Mother-of-two, Sharyn Clarkson, donned a bright red Santa hat and posed with a giant version of the new card during the launch at the charity’s store in Redcar.

Available online and at selected Cancer Research UK shops, the gift is a donation that will help save lives with the recipient having the option to choose the type of research they most want to support.

There are nine areas to choose from - including research into breast, brain, lung and pancreatic cancers – allowing people to support the one closest to their hearts.

Mrs Clarkson, 59, said: “We are really excited about launching the new Cancer Research UK Give & Gift card. It’s a great Christmas present idea, especially for people whose lives have been touched by cancer, like me.”

After battling back twice from the disease, she is now healthy and well the manager at the Cancer Research UK shop in Redcar.

The cards can be purchased in £5 and £10 denominations. For more information on Cancer Research UK’s Give & Gift cards visit cruk.org/give-and-gift
