A FUNRAISING evening at Darlington’s first champagne bar raised hundreds for the Great North Air Ambulance.

The evening, which was held on Wednesday (November 28) at Crooners Champagne Bar, in Houndgate Mews, was organised by the bar’s owners, father and daughter, Ian Ferguson and Victoria Ameen-Alie.

Dozens of local businesses, including Rockliffe Hall and Golden Brown Coffee, donated prizes for a raffle, which raised £350 for the charity.

Ms Ameen-Alie said: “It was an absolutely fantastic evening, and it was nice to see people raising money for a really good cause.”
