VICTIMS abused by a child sex attacker 35 years ago have spoken out after he was finally jailed today. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29.

Brian Tuner, now 67, of Glendale Road, Middlesbrough, was sentenced to 14 years at Middlesbrough Crown Court.

The abuse, included the rape of a child.

He was found guilty of abusing one child over more than a decade with one offence of rape, four indecent assaults and three of indecency with a child. He was also sentenced for indecent assaults on a second child.

After his conviction both the victims released statements through Cleveland Police.

One said: “This evil man has ruined my life. He is in the best place, so he can’t sexually abuse another child.”

The other said: “Sorry isn’t good enough, he took away something I could never get back and he ruined my childhood.”

Investigating Officer, DC Peter Littlewood, of Cleveland Police Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “Brian Turner betrayed the trust of his victims and sexually abused them in the most appalling way.

"The victims in this case have shown great courage in reporting the abuse and I applaud their bravery. I hope this sentence gives other victims of sexual abuse the confidence to come forward, as this case shows that those who prey on children are brought to justice.”

Turner had pleaded not guilty but was convicted on November 5 and sentenced today. He will be on a sex offender’s register for life and can be considered for parole after seven years.
