A CARE home in Richmond is holding an open day to invite visitors to join in activities and buy Christmas treats.

Residents at Care UK’s Terrace care home in Masion Dieu are making cards, crackers, Christmas trees and gifts for their stalls for the fair on Saturday, December 15, which runs between 2pm and 5pm.

Activities coordinator Cynthia Payne said: “We have some very talented residents who are creating some beautiful things.

“We also have some fun games including ‘water into wine’, where people pick a bottle which may turn out to be water or wine, and the mystery box where people pick one of 30 keys, but only one opens the box and reveals the prize.”

There will be a chance to win a Christmas cake in the guess the weight contest, tombola and a raffle that includes a bumper hamper, Christmas cake and cuddly toys.

As well as refreshments there will also be entertainment from local singer Freddie Briggs.
