A NORTHALLERTON firm is set to auction a signed Manchester United football shirt to raise funds for local children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Yorkshire Fireplaces is supporting charity Naomi’s Fight For Life Fund for 10-year-old Naomi Savage who has suffered from a brain tumour since she was four.

Naomi is now partially sighted after three operations and more than 30 chemotherapy sessions, and still is at risk of the tumour returning.

The charity raises money for other children suffering from cancer.

The company is also raising money for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

Yorkshire Fireplaces staff have completed this year’s Great North Run and have so far raised £1,200 with help from friends, family and customers.

The firm received the football shirt from the Manchester United Foundation to raise more cash for the charities.

The signed shirt will be up for auction between Tuesday, December 4 and Friday, December 14.

To win, contact Yorkshire Fireplaces on www.yorkshirefires.co.uk/contact with your bid, name, address and contact number, or call into the showroom at 235 High Street, Northallerton.

The highest amount will win the shirt and will be notified on Saturday, December 15.
