BIKE TARGETED: A 42-YEAR-OLD Darlington man has been charged with handling stolen goods after the serial number of a GT Avalanche mountain bike was ground off and the cycle was repainted.

Police said the man had also tried to disguise the owner’s name on a stolen power drill.

DRIVERS UNHURT: Motorists escaped injury after a minor three car collision on the A66 at Great Burdon, near Darlington, around 8am today (November 29).

Police said the incident was caused by ice on the road, and urged drivers to take extra care.

POLICE ARRESTS: Police in Darlington have charged a 38-year-old man with burglary after a laptop computer and bicycle were stolen from a property in the Eastbourne area of the town.

In a separate incident, a 23-year-old man has been charged with theft from a parked Fiat Scudo in North Road, Darlington.

TOY APPEAL: All Saints and Salutation Church, in Blackwell, Darlington, is appealing for people to donate toys for a Salvation Army Christmas appeal.

Gifts can be taken to any services on Advent Sunday.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old man has been charged with theft after a satellite navigation system was taken from a Renault Clio.
