A MAN was punched by a cyclist who then tried to rob the victim.

The attack happened on Thursday, November 22 on Saltersgill Avenue, close to St Chad’s Church in Middlesbrough at about 11.15pm.

The victim was punched by a man on a blue bike who then tried to snatch his mobile phone.

Passers-by called the police who have made enquiries, but have not been able to trace the victim.

The victim or any other witnesses are asked to contact PC Andrew Bean on the non-emergency number 101.
