A WOMAN is shaving her hair off for a national cancer charity. CHRISTMAS COFFEE: A festive coffee morning will be held on Saturday, December 1 for the 21st Darlington Scout Group. The event will run from 10am until noon at St Mark’s Church Hall, on North Road, Darlington. Stalls will include a raffle, tombola, meat draw and cake stall.

FESTIVE WORSHIP: St Mary’s Church, in Piercebridge, will hold a special Christingle service for the whole parish of Coniscliffe on Sunday, December 16. The event will start at 4pm and will include a family tea party in the church hall at 5pm – all are welcome.

POLICE MEET: A police and communities together (PACT) meeting for Hurworth will take place tomorrow (Thursday) at Hurworth Methodist Chapel meeting room. The meeting will run from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and everyone is invited to attend.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS: St Edwin’s Church, in High Coniscliffe, is holding two carol services in the run-up to Christmas. On Thursday, December 20 at 2.15pm, a school carol service will be held, and on Sunday, December 23, a family carol service will take place at 10.30am, followed by mulled wine and mince pies. All are welcome.
