5:28pm Tuesday 27th November 2012 in News By Alexa Copeland, Reporter (Darlington)
A MOTORIST who knocked a cyclist off her bike and broke her wrist has appeared in court.
Guo Jiang, 40, admitted driving without due care and attention when he appeared before Darlington Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, November 27).
The court heard Jiang, of James Street, Darlington, was driving along Yarm Road and turned left into Park Place without indicating and without realising that a cyclist was riding in the cycle lane alongside him.
He knocked the woman off her bike and she suffered cuts and bruises as well as a broken wrist.
Magistrates heard Jiang was also driving unaccompanied whilst on a provisional licence and in court he admitted to driving without the correct licence.
He was fined a total of £110 with £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Four points were added to his licence.
