A MAN was stabbed four times during a robbery.

Two men attacked the 32-year-old on Sunday, stabbing him four times in the back with an unknown weapon before stealing his bag.

The victim had to be treated at Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital following the incident, which happened at around 9.30pm on the cycle path near to the town’s Sycamore Road.

The attackers are described as white men. One, said to be in his early 30s, is around 6ft tall, slim and was wearing a dark top and jeans. The second man was wearing black Adidas bottoms and was slightly shorter than the other.

The stolen black and gold JD Sports bag contained medication, including Pregablin and Metazipine. Police are urging the public not to consume medication that is not prescribed to them.
