A MAN was left with a broken leg following a savage beating by stick-wielding assailants.

The 38-year-old was attacked by two men on Staithes Road in Dormanstown, near Redcar at around 8.15pm on Friday, November 23.

He was taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital following the incident and was later released.

His attackers were wearing dark clothing and are believed to have fled the scene in a burgundy Vauxhall Vectra.

Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Detective Sergeant Paul Husband of Redcar and Cleveland CID on non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
