TWO stolen quad bikes worth a total of £12,000 were sold for just £700, a court heard.
The Kawasaki and Yamaha machines were stolen from farm buildings in Middleton-in- Teesdale, County Durham, and Richmond, North Yorkshire, in August before finding their way into the hands of 22-year-old Guy Dodsworth of Lychgate, Hurworth, near Darlington.
Darlington Magistrates’ Court heard today (Tuesday, November 27) that Dodsworth bought the quad bikes from two men and stored them in his parents’ garage in Hurworth, intending to clean them up and sell them on.
A police investigation led to the recovery of the vehicles and Dodsworth admitted possession of criminal property in court.
He was fined £400 with £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
