PEOPLE are invited to find out about volunteering in the Hambleton area.

Northallerton and District Voluntary Service Association (NDVSA) is holding a volunteering fair on Wednesday, December 5, in Northallerton Town Hall.

Between 10.30am and 12.30pm free refreshments and mince pies will be available to anyone who would like to find out about volunteering opportunities in the Northallerton and Bedale area.

From 2pm until 4pm there will be an event at the same venue for existing volunteers with the organisation.

It will be open to those who volunteer with the community visiting, carers’ respite sitting, Bedale minibus and community car schemes.

Lizzie Clapham, acting volunteer centre co-ordinator, said: “Volunteering is a great way to keep active, help your local community, get out of the house, develop skills, knowledge and experience and meet new people.

“Time commitments range from helping with one-off events to contributing a few hours every week.”
