THE death of a man whose body was found next to a railway line is not being treated as suspicious by British Transport Police.
The 38-year-old was found next to the tracks at Blue Bridge, near Overdale Road, at Marton in Middlesbrough at about 6pm on Friday (November 23).
Officers investigating the incident are trying to establish the circumstances in which he died.
Detective Constable Wayne Green said the transport police were "anxious to piece together his last movements".
The man was 5ft 10in with cropped light brown hair and was wearing a black fleece jacket, grey jumper and black trousers.
His relatives have been informed.
DC Green said: "Although there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances, his death remains unexplained.
"I am anxious to piece together his last movements and establish exactly how he came to be on the railway line."
Anyone who might have seen the man in the area between 1am and 6pm on Friday is asked to contact police on 0800 40 50 40 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – quoting incident 466 23/11/2012.
