A 52-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm following an incident at a Tesco supermarket in Scarborough. The man allegedly pointed the fake pistol at the back of a female cashier at 5.15pm on Thursday. He then ran off, but was tackled and arrested by an off-duty police officer. The man appeared before magistrates in Scarborough today (Friday, November 23) and is due to appear at York Crown Court later this month.
