A CHARITY is seeking help as it looks to deliver its 100m shoebox packed with goodies to children in poor countries in 2012.

Operation Christmas Child is calling on people across the North-East and North Yorkshire to help its annual appeal.

The good cause was set up in 1990 and it has sent 94m shoeboxes to children in over 100 countries and it wants to reach the 100m mark.

The children benefiting from the shoeboxes are aged between two and 14-years and items included can be gifts, toiletries or educational goods.

Personalised messages and a photo can also be added to the gifts.

Shoeboxes can be created on-line from £11 at operationchristmaschild.org.uk/shoeboxworld/ and full boxes can be left at Shoe Zone stores until December 3.
