AN independent childcare provider has received an “outstanding” inspection report for the second time in a row.

Sarah Butler and Zoe BurrowsEgan, from Midget Gems Childcare in Richmond, received the double accolade after being inspected individually. Owner Mrs Butler previously attained an outstanding grade in November 2009. She said: “We are both on top of the world to receive this grade from Ofsted, especially as this September saw the changes to the inspection arrangements for schools, early years and childcare.

“We believe we are the first in North Yorkshire to actually receive this grade.”

Ofsted said about Midget Gems in its report: “There are exceptional systems to support transitions to other settings and the children are extremely well behaved.”
