STAFF and parents at a Wensleydale primary school put in overtime on Saturday morning, painting and gardening.
A part of a project to develop the play area at Spennithorne Primary School, a group of willing volunteers spent the morning digging, weeding and painting in the school garden.
Leading by example, headteacher Lindsay Evans used her DIY skills painting several surrounding fences. The gardening team was led by teacher Louise Alder, and managed to complete the tasks in the allotted time despite several impromptu coffee breaks.
Mrs Evans said: “The whole project will take some time to complete, but I think we have achieved something this morning.”
