A thumbs-up from insect eating students

First published in News

EDIBLE CHALLENGE: A North-East business that challenged pupils to eat insects went down a real treat with the youngsters. Darlington-based outdoor pursuits company Rock-It organised a survival day at the Castle Enterprise Academy in Sunderland and asked pupils to imagine they were stranded in a jungle. The event ended with an ‘I’m a Celebrity’ style bush tucker challenge where the youngsters were encouraged to eat edible bugs and insects. The pupils enjoyed the event so much they gave Rock-It the Students Choice Award in their annual school awards ceremony.
