IT’S Robin Hood – but not as you’ve ever seen him before.

Geordie panto favourite Berwick Kaler is returning to York Theatre Royal once again – this time with with his unique own take on the evergreen legend of the noble outlaw.

Robin Hood and his Merry Mam (CORRECT) promises to bring all the madcap spectacle that pantomime superstar Berwick is famous for back to the local stage.

While King Richard the Lionheart is away fighting in the Crusades, Robin Hood has the task of saving the rightful heirs to the throne from the evil Prince John and Sheriff Hutton of Nottingham.

But in true panto tradition things aren’t that simple – as he also has to cope with the arrival of his mother who is convinced he’s an accountant.

The show has been written by Berwick who also shares directing duties with Damien Cruden.

The show opens on December 13 and runs until February 2. Tickets range from £10 to £24.50 and are available from the box office on 01904-623568 or via yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
