PAINTING POSER: Young train enthusiasts are urged to name a painting at a tourist attraction. The Locomotion No 1 exhibit, by Durham artist Steven Fox, is based at Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum.
The competition is open to children under 12, and entries close on Sunday, December 23. The winner will receive an annual family museum pass.

ENERGY CLUB: A free physical activity scheme has been launched for North-East schoolchildren.
The Energy Club, for youngsters between four and 11-years-old, aims to add to the legacy of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A taster session takes place in Corporation Road Primary School, in Darlington, on Friday, November 30 from 10.15am until 11.30am.
CIVIC SHOW: Soul Sister, inspired by the lives and music of Ike and Tina Turner, starts at Darlington Civic Theatre on Monday, November 19 and runs until Saturday, November 24.
