Workshops in making wooden reindeer will be held at Hardwick Park in Sedgefield every Sunday until December 16 starting on November 25. Sessions run from 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm and the cost is £12 per reindeer. Places must be booked on 01740-621505.

LIGHT SHOW: The Son et Lumiere sound and light show, which has a Dickensian theme and is narrated by John Grundy, will be performed at Scar Top in Barnard Castle, County Durham, at 6pm on Saturday, December 1. The local farmers' market and shops will remain open later, and there will be an elves workshop in the Methodist Church Hall, along with Father Christmas’ grotto.
