TELEVISION chef Rosemary Shrager is due to appear as a surprise guest in prime-time television show I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.

The chef, who has worked at Swinton Park Hotel’s cookery school near Masham, North Yorkshire, for nine years, has been parachuted into the show as a surprise late arrival with eighties pop star Limahl, from pop band Kajagoogoo.

They have joined other campmates in the Australian jungle, including boxer David Haye, soap star Helen Flanagan and Brian Conley.

Already, one bookies has offered odds of 33/1 for Ms Shrager to win the show.

The ebullient chef has said in an interview she has never camped in her life and is terrified of snakes, rats and heights. She has also said that she enjoys “having fun” and doesn’t “have a lot of inhibitions”.

Ms Shrager, has starred in television series such as Ladette to Lady and School for Cooks and regularly appears on television shows such as This Morning. The television personality is regularly appears at cookery demonstrations for the Great Yorkshire Show and other demonstrations and workshops in the county.

She recently announced she would be leaving Swinton Park to start up a new cookery school in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, but said she would be returning to the venue to run a series of day courses during 2013 and to provide cookery demonstrations at shows and events in North Yorkshire.

Speaking to the Northern Echo days before she flew out to Australia, she said: “I’m not leaving my Yorkshire roots completely and I’ll still be doing the Yorkshire Show.”
