Darlington man charged with sexual assault breaches bail

A DARLINGTON man charged with sexual assault and assault by beating has been remanded in custody after breaching his bail.
Christopher Philip Turner, of the Hawthorns, is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl, assault by beating, criminal damage and obstructing a police officer on October 21.
The 25-year-old was granted conditional bail by magistrates in Newton Aycliffe on October 24 to await committal to crown court.
Today (November 6), magistrates were told Turner had breached his bail by removing an electronic tag and staying out past his 7pm curfew.
Turner admitted the breach and also pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer.
He was remanded in custody and will be committed to Teesside Crown Court at Darlington Magistrates on November 28.
