A NORTH Yorkshire confectionery company has scooped the top award in its field.
Leeming Bar-based R&R Ice Cream was named as the nation’s best ice cream maker at the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2012.
Europe’s largest own-label ice cream producer won the prestigious award, Ice Cream Manufacturing Company of the Year, at a gala dinner held at London’s Park Lane Hilton.
The award judges said R&R Ice Cream had maintained a focus on innovation and operational effectiveness while acquiring businesses across Europe.
They added: “R&R has become a major force in the ice cream sector and shows a commitment to succeed at all levels.”
