FAMILIES in the Darlington and Stockton areas could be enjoying warmer homes in time for winter thanks to the launch of a new scheme.

Fuel poverty organisation GoWarm specialises in making homes more affordable to heat, and is now offering free boiler replacements, heating system upgrades and insulation to eligible households across the region.

In order to qualify for the scheme, households must be in the Darlington and Stockton area, and meet strict criteria, including being in receipt of benefits such as child tax credit, income related ESA, income-based job seekers allowance, working tax credit or pension credit.

Those eligible will receive a package of free measures designed to make their homes warmer and reduce fuel bills. This could include a boiler repair or replacement, a new full heating system with fuel switch and the installation of cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and draught proofing.
