Motorist injured when car overturns after leaving road

A MOTORIST was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after his car left the road and ended on its roof in a ditch.
The 18-year-old man, from the Eaglescliffe area, Teesside, was injured when his Ford Fiesta left the A1 in County Durham today. (Nov 5).
Police are investigating how the car left the southbound A1 near Bishop Middleham at 1.15pm.
The man was treated by ambulance paramedics and was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, Teesside, by the Great North Air Ambulance.
He is in a stable condition and the head injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road was shut for several hours while the police investigated the accident.
