Three people thought to be hurt after two cars collide near Sedgefield

THREE people are believed to have been injured in a two-car collision at Trimdon, near Sedgefield, County Durham.

Hurworth Burn Road was closed in both directions for two hours following the accident today (Wednesday, October 24) , which involved a Nissan Micra, driven by a woman in her mid fifties from South Shields, and a Ford Ka, driven by a woman in her early twenties from Trimdon Village.

The Ford Ka also contained a young female passenger and a baby boy.

Police were called to the scene just after noon. There were reports of three casualties but police were not able to confirm the extent of their injuries.

The Northern Echo have got their facts all wrong here. Wrong people in the wrong cars etc. Poor reporting really stating this as fact when its not.
