THE queen of the Coast to Coast is retiring. The visitors' books and the online chat forums say it all. Butt House was, they say, unbeatable, for its food, especially the chocolate cake, its beds, baths, late night conversation and, above all, its welcome.

ORGAN transplants have been in the news recently, although, to be truthful, the subject is hardly out of the headlines and off our TV screens. Kaylee Davidson from Houghton le Spring recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of her life-saving heart transplant at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
