A GROUP of homebuilders have combined forces to donate £6,000 to a local childcare centre to purchase resources and equipment for its outdoor area.

Dunelm Homes, ESH Group and Persimmon Homes have pledged £6,000 to the Craghead Childcare Centre, close to the Middles Farm Village development in County Durham.

Thanks to their generosity, the nursery will now be able to develop its outdoor spaces.

“Craghead Childcare Centre is a not-for-profit community- based day nursery serving the heart of the local community,” said trust manager Janice Kelly.

“We consider ourselves to be a vital service for local families in need of quality early education and childcare within their own community.

“We will put the donation to excellent use and push forward in our plans to develop the nursery’s outdoors areas.”

“With our Middles Farm Village development so close to the Craghead Childcare Centre we were really keen to look at ways of helping and supporting the local community and the valuable services the centre provides,” said Steve Murray, who is the managing director of Dunelm Homes.

“We are pleased that through our donation and that of ESH Group and Persimmon Homes, the nursery facilities will accommodate the needs of existing and new families moving into the local area.”
