WE love this picture which we stumbled upon in the D&S Times' library this week.
By coincidence, it was taken exactly 37 years ago today when, believe it or not, parking was a problem in Richmond.
With the new year came a new solution, and Miss Marie Ness (above, seen writing out a "warning notice") and Mrs Mary Colley had just begun their roles as parking wardens.
They were not there to boost the coffers of the local council as the D&S said they had been appointed "to sort out drivers' problems and smooth over difficulties with the new disc parking scheme".
What sort of car was having Miss Ness's warning notice to pinned beneath the wiper? If you can identify it, please email chris.lloyd@nne.co.uk
