BROTHER and sister Luke and Beth Wilkinson took the commercial cattle championship at the 10th annual Winter Stock Festival at the East of England Showground, Peterborough.
The pair, from Leyburn, and John Smith Jackson, from Haltwhistle, took the title with Garned Model, a 14-month-old Limousin heifer. On the second day Mr Smith Jackson also took the pedigree baby beef championship with his home-bred Limousin heifer Dancing Queen.
The two day festival attracted a large crowd, with top quality commercial and pedigree cattle and sheep on show, as well as pigs, which were introduced to the event this year.
The top prize in the sheep section went to Robert Garth from Bentham with a pair of Beltex lambs.
