STAFF in Mole Valley Farmers' "cow signals" team have been described as the best trained in the UK.
The accolade has been paid by vet Joep Driessen who is the Cow Signals master trainer, director and owner of the CowSignals Training Company.
Cows send out signals continuously about their health, well-being, nutrition and production, but the skill is in being able to recognize these and act upon them.
Mr Driessen said: "You have to let the cows do the talking. With the right training, disease and lameness can be prevented. The cow will have more lactations and the farmer will have more profits."
Mole Valley’s Tom Hough said: "We have been trained in Cow Signals by Joep for many years now, but wanted to move up to the next level. The recent training we have embarked upon has once again opened our eyes to the signals which could lead to big benefits, both in herd health and profits to our farmers and their businesses."
