LOCAL dairy farmers wives and daughters joined last week's Farmers For Action March in London.
The "Dairy Girls" from North Yorkshire and Cleveland formed last year to draw attention to the poor farm gate milk prices which threaten many family-run dairy farms.
They took a petition signed by more than 5,000 local people, and on online national petition signed by 58,000, which were handed in to 10 Downing Street.
Around 1,400 farmers attended the march which was held to emphasise the point that if farm prices continue to drop, then many small farms will go out of business by the end of the year.
