FARMERS can find out about the benefits of using marginal land for EFA’s, stewardship, farmland birds and cross compliance at a series of free events held by the Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) and the Farm Advice Service (FAS).
They include The George Hotel Piercebridge today; Seaton Lane Inn, Seaton, Seaham, on March 15; and the Wyvill Arms, Leyburn, on March 22. All start at 10am followed by lunch and an optional farm, walk.
Fraser Hugill, regional coordinator for CFE in Yorkshire and the North East said: "With tight economic margins in farming we need to consider is a conventional crop worth growing on marginal land and if not how can we make this land work for the business in other ways."
To book contact Sarah Maughan at CFE Yorkshire and the North-East on 07432 562198 or email yorkshirenortheast@cfeonline.org.uk.
