AN OPEN day to celebrate a firm's 10th anniversary proved a resounding success with about 1,000 people attending.

Pearsons Farm Supplies’ celebrations at its Stainton House Farm base in West Marton, near Skipton, featured Gareth Wyn Jones, North Wales hill farmer and star of BBC TV's The Hill Farm and The Farmer and the Food Chain.

It also showcased Pearsons Farm Supplies’ wide-ranging products portfolio, along with supplier trade stands and a farming quiz with prizes.

Chris Pearson, managing director, said: "It was an amazing turnout – our hog roast proved particularly popular and the entire porker was consumed in double-quick time!

"We would thank all who attended and contributed to the event. It was a really special and memorable day for us."

The business was founded in 2005 and has expanded and diversified to become one of the largest independent agricultural merchants in the north, with a trading area taking in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales.

The company also has a branch office in Angelsey, and is on-site presences at auction marts in Skipton, Gisburn, Bentham, Otley and St Asaph.
