NORMAN Invincible from Eric and Elaine Norman, Little Orton Farm, Carlisle sold for the day’s top price of 8,000gns at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s end of season summer bull and female sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, on Friday.
The September 2013-born bull is by the herd’s prolific stock bull Claragh Franco and out of the Glangwden Bigboy daughter, Norman Glory. He was bought by Edward Dean, Brampton, Carlisle.
It was more of the same for the Normans who at the Society’s February sale at Carlisle sold seven bulls to gross 68,000gns including Franco sons at 22,000gns and 20,000gns, respectively.
On Friday, they also sold Norman Ispy, another Claragh Franco son, for 5,000gns to B&SE Carter, of Lancaster. An October 2013 bull, he is out of the Dyfri Maestro daughter, Stacey Shelly.
At 4,200gns was McInnes Irreplaceable from Ashley McInnes, of Goole. This October 2013-born bull by Strattons Donis out of Greenwell Daisy, was bought by T&R Quinn & Son, of Quebec, near Bishop Auckland.
Also heading to Bishop Auckland and A Peart & Son was Glebepark Iontas from N&E Cruickshank, of Lanark. An October 2013-born Irish bred bull, he is by the Sympa sired Haltcliffe Dancer out of Glebepark Belinda.
