FARMERS are invited to a series of Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) walks looking at the importance of insects on farms and how to enhance their ecological focus areas (EFAs) for pollinators.

Steven Falk, a Bugslife entomologist, will show how to identify insects and how to manage and create habitats for pollinators.

The first event on Monday (18th) is at Grazing Nook Farm, Bedale, DL8 1LW, at 6pm where habitats including nectar mixes, and traditional orchards will be demonstrated.

The second event at Rosemount Farm, Weaverthorpe, YO17 8EU, is on Tuesday (19th) at 10am. It will look at different habitats pollinators use including wild bird seed, arable margins and grassland dales.

Also on Tuesday (19) alternative fibre crops and grassland will be examined at Hornington Manor Farm, Oxton Lane, Bolton Percy, YO23 7AS, at 6pm.

The events also include updates on greening and EFAs, Countryside Stewardship and CFE.
